On Saturday, August 22, a joint company information session under “SAGASHIRU GLOBAL,” a Saga Prefecture program supporting employment of international talent, was held at Mate Plaza Saga. Approximately 20 international students from Myanmar, Nepal, and China, representing our affiliated institutions—including the junior college, university, and graduate school—participated in the event![]()
For international students from diverse cultural backgrounds, Japan’s unique job-hunting process and ways of interacting with companies can still be unfamiliar. At the session, students had the opportunity to hear directly from companies about their businesses, job opportunities, and the qualities they seek in prospective employees. They listened attentively and showed great interest in the presentations.
The students also actively engaged with company representatives, asking questions and sharing their thoughts and perspectives. Through these interactions, they deepened their understanding of working for Japanese companies and gained an opportunity to reflect on their future career paths, including what skills they need to develop and how they can effectively communicate their strengths during the job-hunting process.
The session provided a valuable opportunity for the students to gain a better understanding of job hunting and working in Japan and to think more concretely about their future careers. We hope that this initiative will further promote mutual understanding between international students and companies in Saga Prefecture and encourage more international students to contribute to the local community by making use of the knowledge and experiences they have gained in Saga.
Finally, we would like to express our sincere gratitude to the Saga Prefectural Government’s Industrial Human Resources Division, the Saga Foreign Human Resources Employment Support Center, and all other organizations involved for their kind support in planning and organizing this event.
We will continue to value opportunities that connect international students with local communities and companies, and strive to create an environment where international students can study and work in Saga with confidence and become active members of the local community.![]()
