On Wednesday, June 3, 2026, ten second-year international students from the Junior College Multicultural Course (nine from Myanmar and one from Vietnam) visited Imari City’s Imari Grand Hotel and participated in a hotel tour.
During the visit, the students toured the hotel’s facilities, including guest rooms and the large public bath. They also took part in group work and a question-and-answer session. In addition, they attended a lecture by a Nepalese staff member working at the hotel, as well as a talk by Chairman Kaneko, providing them with valuable insights into the hospitality industry. The students listened attentively while taking notes, and during group work they actively exchanged opinions in Japanese and presented their outcomes.
In particular, the remarks made by the Nepalese staff member—such as “I want to share the charm of Imari” and “To improve Japanese language skills, it is important not to stay within one’s own community but to actively speak with many people”—appeared to have a strong impact on the students. Furthermore, they gained many insights from the warm hospitality of the hotel staff and the workplace environment, where people of a wide range of ages were actively engaged in their work.
We would like to express our sincere gratitude to Chairman Kaneko of IKK Holdings Inc. and President Nakamura of Imari Grand Hotel, as well as all other concerned parties, for providing us with this valuable opportunity.
