In response to the recent earthquake that occurred in the Hyuga Nada region and considering the high possibility of stronger earthquakes
in the future, we have initiated disaster prevention education for international students. The goal is to enhance their disaster awareness and ensure they can respond appropriately in emergencies. To this end, we have begun disaster prevention learning sessions during the summer
vacation period
On August 26 (Tuesday), the first session was conducted with nine Myanmar international students from the Food Health course, who received training at the Saga Public Safety Fire Department.
Over the course of approximately one hour, they experienced and learned about flood and earthquake
disasters using specialized theaters and simulators. This hands-on experience allowed them to understand more deeply the fear and importance of preparation for natural disasters, which is difficult to convey through textbooks or PC screens alone. The program proved to be highly beneficial,
especially for many international students who are unfamiliar with earthquake disasters.
We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to the staff of the Prevention Guidance Division of the Saga Public Safety Fire Department
who provided valuable support under the strong sun today.
Moving forward, we plan to implement this program for all international students at the Saga campus over the next month.
With over 120 students as the target, we are aware of the burden this places on you and apologize for any inconvenience. We appreciate your continued understanding and guidance as we work to enhance disaster awareness among our international students.
